A site visit was organized for III year students of Civil Engineering department, Allenhouse Institute of Technology, Rooma, Kanpur at Sewage Treatment Plant, Bharwara, Lucknow , a branch of U.P. JAL NIGAM on 16th Feb, 2019.
The field visit gave an opportunity to the aspiring students to have an insight to real site working mechanism including process of sewage treatment, aerobic and anaerobic channel and practical overview of oxidation ditch (Dissolved oxygen). A visit to quality control lab was also made.
Mr. Rajiv Kumar, Executive Engineer and Mr. Sangam Maurya, Junior Engineer, U.P. JAL NIGAM gave a knowledgeable demonstration of all the site processes.
This site visit was very beneficial to the third year students as they got a chance to have a practical knowledge of the whole procedure and various environmental testings, ethical and societal problems and other aspects. This field visit covered the concepts and knowledge of core Civil Engineering subjects viz.- Water Supply Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Water Resource Engineering.
